The Gates School for students with dyslexia and related reading disorders recognizes that all children deserve to succeed academically. As a public charter school, we do not charge tuition. We understand that students with dyslexia learn best through a multi-sensory, direct, explicit approach that will enable them to reach their full potential.

What Is Dyslexia

Dyslexia is a language-based learning disability. It refers to a cluster of symptoms that result in having difficulties with specific language skills, particularly reading. It is referred to as a learning disability because dyslexia can make it very difficult for a student to succeed academically in the typical instructional environment.

Our Approach

The Gates School understands that students with dyslexia and related learning disorders learn best through a multisensory, direct, and explicit approach. We provide an intensive, researchbased learning atmosphere that will enable students to reach their full potential in a safe and supportive environment.

As a charter school, we are a free public school, with the freedom to be more innovative while being held accountable for improving student achievement.

The school is scheduled to open in the fall of 2021 with grades 1-5. Admission will be through a weighted lottery for students with dyslexia and related reading disorders after an evaluation.
